Ethiopian Airlines Launches Addis Ababa-Abu Dhabi Flights: July 2025

Ethiopian Airlines is reintroducing direct flights between Addis Ababa and Abu Dhabi after nearly three decades. Starting July 15, 2025, the airline will operate a daily service using a Boeing 737 MAX 8, providing travelers with a nonstop alternative to previously necessary connections through Dubai and other hubs. This move strengthens Ethiopian Airlines’ presence in the Middle East and enhances connectivity for business and leisure travelers between Africa and the UAE.

The flight schedule for the Northern Summer 2025 season is designed for convenience. Flight ET614 departs Addis Ababa at 9:50 PM, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 3:10 AM. The return flight, ET615, leaves Abu Dhabi at 4:25 AM and lands in Addis Ababa at 7:45 AM. Business travelers managing trade and investments, tourists exploring Abu Dhabi or Ethiopia, and transit passengers using Addis Ababa as a hub will all benefit from this new connection.

This route reopening reflects growing ties between Africa and Gulf nations, reinforcing Addis Ababa’s position as a key transit hub. Travelers should monitor ticket availability as demand is expected to be high. Ethiopian Airlines’ expansion is not just about one route—it signals a broader push for stronger air connectivity between Africa and the Middle East, responding to the increasing needs of business, tourism, and labor movements.
