NAHCO Aviance Secures Major Ground Handling Contracts
West Africa’s leading ground handling service provider, NAHCO Aviance, has extended its ground handling contracts with three major international airlines: Emirates, Turkish Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic. This positive development signals continued confidence in NAHCO’s services and strengthens its position in the West African aviation market.
The contract extensions span several years: Emirates until 2029, Virgin Atlantic until 2028, and Turkish Airlines until December 2029. Emirates, which resumed scheduled flights to Nigeria in October, will continue to rely on NAHCO for comprehensive ground handling services for the next five years. Virgin Atlantic’s continued partnership reflects a long-standing appreciation for NAHCO’s service delivery, while the extension with Turkish Airlines underscores a consistently strong working relationship spanning many years.
Mr. Indranil Gupta, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NAHCO Plc, expressed his enthusiasm about these contract renewals. He stated, “For 45 years NAHCO has been the leader in ground handling service in Nigeria and the entire West Africa region. We will continue to lead the way, satisfy our clients and delight our shareholders. It is a promise we will keep.”
Gupta further emphasized NAHCO’s commitment to providing excellent service through ongoing investment in modern equipment and employee training. “NAHCO will continue to invest in equipment and in training to meet our obligations to our clients,” he added.
Prince Saheed Lasisi, Group Executive Director, Commercial & Business Development at NAHCO Aviance, highlighted the significance of these contract renewals. He said, “It is a measure of the trust that the airlines have in us that they have extended our contract with them for these respective years. We are so delighted with this and will go beyond expectations in making them the most satisfied airlines operating into and out of Nigeria.” Lasisi also noted the crucial role of efficient ground handling in maintaining an airline’s high standards of service. He stated that NAHCO is honored by the continued trust placed in them by these reputable carriers.
